'Record year' for Hong Kong tourismHong Kong attracted a record number of visitors from the UK last year, new figures show.Statistics released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) indicate that more than 600,000 people travelled from the UK to the Chinese region in 2007 - an increase of more than 16 per cent on the year before, Travelmole reports.People travelling from the UK helped Hong Kong achieve an overall record for the number of people experiencing its unique attractions and atmosphere, with a total of 28.1 million people visiting in 2007.Speaking to the website, Anthony Lau, executive director of the HKTB, said: "2007 was an exceptional year for the UK market to Hong Kong, and we are confident of building on this success in the coming 12 months."
